The Sheep’s domain is the Earthly Branch wèi, and it is connected to the hours of one to three in the afternoon. It arrived eighth to the Jade Emperor’s Party, which it traveled alongside the Deer with. However, when they got to the river, they were forced to swim as there were not any boats available. The Sheep made it across the river with some difficulty, but the Deer was not able to cross. Sheep are known in China to characterize devotion to one’s parents, and they also represent being good natured and pure. A sheep with a single horn named Xiè Zhì is a character in Chinese mythology who helps the god of Justice named Gāo Yáo. The most recent years of the sheep were 2015 and 2003, and the next is 2027.
Personality and characteristics
Sheep look out for people around them and put other people before them. They don’t like to see their friends suffer and will do whatever they can to prevent that, but they can tolerate great suffering themselves, which can be surprising when you consider how gentle they are. They do not jump into conversations to say the first thing that comes to mind, but rather they take time and care to think things through before speaking, and they apply this same level of prudence to their actions. People find these traits of Sheep to be highly endearing, though Sheep being so stubborn can be a source of frustration for people. However, their selflessness balances that out, as does their purity that makes them love simple things such as nature and animals.
compatibility
Sheep are natural friends of Horses, as they both put other people before themselves, and they are thus great at helping each other. Rabbits make great friends of Sheep as well, as Rabbits are so reliable and will balance the Sheep’ selflessness. Because Sheep and Pigs are both kind and mild mannered, they get along well. Sheep match poorly with Oxen, as the headstrong nature of both leads to clashes. Rats are also a bad match, as they can rarely understand each other and see eye to eye on matters. Dogs and Sheep also commonly have misunderstandings, which leads to problems between them.
health
Sheep get sick easily. They often have colds and are afflicted with sore throats and coughs. As seasons change, they tend to fall ill, and they should take care to stay warm in the winter months and avoid cold foods in the summer when they are at risk of gastrointestinal problems. They should get more exercise than they do, and they should also focus on their mental health. They have too much stress, and they obsess over minor issues to the point where they blow up.
career
Sheep do well in hospitality, as they always look to make others feel special. Their desire to help people also makes them great for medicine and other industries where they provide care and community service. They are very creative, which along with their high levels of empathy makes them a good fit for arts. They also like jobs where they can focus and not be distracted, so jobs such as typists are well suited to them.
